Wisp Road: Privacy Policy
Wisp Road ("the game", "we", "us") is a single-player endless runner for mobile devices. This policy explains what the game does with information. The short version: we collect nothing ourselves, and the game shows an ad only when you choose to watch one.
The short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-in.
- The game's only ads are optional reward videos. One plays only when you tap "Unlock Continue" after a run ends, to carry on that run. There are no banners and no ads that play by themselves.
- Those ads come from Google AdMob. Google's ad software in the game collects some information from your device to show and measure ads (details below). We do not receive it.
- The game connects to the internet only to load and show those ads. It plays fully offline; without a connection, Continue simply works without an ad.
- The game does not ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
What the game stores on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves a few small things on your device:
- your best score and the total number of coins you have collected
- your ingame settings
- whether you have finished the tutorial
These are kept in the game's private storage area. Other apps cannot read them, and they are never sent to us.
Device backup. If backup is turned on for your device, Android includes these few things in your device backup with your Google account, so your progress comes back when you reinstall the game or move to a new device. Only the game's progress and settings are backed up, nothing else. The backup is kept by Google with your account's other device backups, under Google's terms, and we do not receive it. You can turn device backup off in your device's Settings (usually Settings > Google > Backup).
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK, provided by Google LLC, to show optional rewarded video ads. When the game loads or shows an ad, Google's SDK collects and shares the following with Google, encrypted in transit, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:
- Device identifiers: your device's advertising ID and app set ID.
- IP address: which may be used to estimate your general location (not precise location).
- Interactions with ads: such as app launches, taps and video views.
- Diagnostic information: such as app launch time, hang rate and energy use.
Google may use this information to show ads that are more relevant to you (personalized ads), where the law and your choices allow. How Google uses it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not receive any of this information about you. AdMob gives us only aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown, which do not identify you.
Your choices about ads
- Don't watch ads. Ads play only when you tap "Unlock Continue". Everything else in the game works without ever watching one.
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in a region whose laws require it, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are used. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy choices in the game.
- Your advertising ID. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's Settings (usually Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads).
- US state privacy laws. Where these give you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising, deleting your advertising ID or opting out of personalized ads as above does that for the game's ads.
Other third parties
- Godot Engine. The game is built with Godot, an open-source game engine. The engine does not collect or transmit data.
- Google Play. If you installed the game from Google Play, Google handles the download on its own terms and may give us aggregated statistics, such as install counts and crash reports from users who chose to share diagnostics with Google. We cannot identify you from these.
We do not sell personal information, and we hold none to sell.
Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game has no accounts, chat, in-app purchases or links out of the game.
Your rights
We hold no information about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. For information collected by Google's ad software, use the choices above or contact Google through its Privacy Policy. To remove the progress and settings saved on your device, uninstall the game or clear its storage in your device's Settings. A copy may also be kept in your device backup; you can manage or delete your backups in your Google account (for example in the Google One or Google Drive app, under Backups).
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game changes what it does with information, we will update this policy and its effective date before that version is released.
